JSON re-loaded – Travel API lauched

On Thursday Yahoo! launched JSON support for Search and the Maps API’s and today Travel went live with two new calls that support JSON as well. The new services return detailed information about a trip created with the Yahoo! Travel Trip Planner.

I put together a little page that uses the two new calls with the JSON output to display trip details.

I couldn’t get your application to work.

  2. Yahoo Travel Trip Plan APIs Now Live

Yahoo posted last week that the Yahoo! Travel Trip Plan API is live. I went poking around and the API looks pretty neat. Developers can retrieve either public or private trips created in Yahoo. This is an interesting move for

  4. Hi Dan,

Met you last night. I thought I’d show you my currently lame map that I mentioned to you. It’s a bicycle accident map at http://www.bittercyclist.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=section&id=5&Itemid=67
It’s connected to a form through php and a mySQL database, but accident markers aren’t immediately added to the map because I am alerted through email for approval of accidents The form is at:
    http://www.bittercyclist.com/index.php?option=com_philaform&Itemid=64&form_id=1
Right now it’s a badly hacked connection to the database using a simple echo function. As we discussed, I’ll switch to using the geocoder and turn the table entries into XML items to take advantage of the geoRSS overlay command.

BTW, if anyone wants to help me build a mashup, I bought the domain name “yahoomazon” a few days ago. ANyone game?

    Hey Brandon,

It was nice meeting you. Cool Mash-up, that’s a great idea. I just forwarded the link to a team member who got into a bike accident last week!

Let me know if you get something else up!

  6. The perfect solution for me as a traveler. I love this tool, thanks

    Is the application working now?
